Privacy Policy
Best Dissertation Writers (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit bestdissertationwriter.com or use our client portal at bestdissertationwriter.com/order (together, the “Service”), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. Please read it together with our Terms and Conditions. By using the Service you acknowledge the practices described here.
1Who we are and what this policy covers
Best Dissertation Writers provides academic writing, research, editing and tutoring support to students and professionals. For the personal information described in this policy, we are the “controller” (or “business”) responsible for deciding how and why it is used. This policy applies to our website, order forms, client portal, messaging features, courses, wallet and affiliate programme, and any communication we have with you by email, SMS, WhatsApp, live chat or phone. It does not apply to third-party websites or services we link to or that you use alongside ours.
2Information we collect
Account details. When you sign up or place an order we collect your name, email address, phone number, country and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form and are never visible to our staff.
Order information. Everything you provide for an order: the topic, instructions, academic level, deadline, preferred writer, sources and files you upload, and the drafts, files and revision requests exchanged during the order.
Messages and communications. Messages you send through the order chat, live chat, email, WhatsApp or SMS, and records of our replies, so we can deliver the service, resolve issues and improve quality.
Payment and wallet information. Payments are processed by third-party providers such as PayPal and card or mobile-payment processors. We do not receive or store your full card number or security code. We keep a record of each payment’s amount, date, method, reference and status, and your wallet balance, credits, discounts and refunds.
Affiliate and referral information. If you take part in our referral or affiliate programme, we record your referral link activity, rewards earned and payout details you choose to provide.
Technical and usage information. Your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, operating system, language, pages viewed, links clicked, referring website and the date and time of visits, collected through server logs, cookies and similar technologies.
Information from other sources. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile details described in section 3. If you contact us through a third-party platform, we receive what that platform shares with us.
3Signing in with Google
If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google shares with us your name, email address and basic profile information (such as your profile picture), after you approve it on Google’s consent screen. We use this solely to create your account or sign you in to the Service, and we may ask you for details Google does not provide, such as your phone number. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendar or any other Google data, and we never post to your Google account.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, or allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security purposes, to comply with law, or where needed to operate the Service. You can remove our access at any time in your Google Account under Security, then Third-party apps and services.
4How we use your information
- To create and manage your account, verify your email and keep your account secure.
- To receive, price, assign, deliver and support your orders, including sharing the order details with the assigned writer.
- To process payments, issue refunds, manage your wallet and prevent fraud, chargeback abuse and misuse.
- To communicate with you about orders, deadlines, drafts, revisions, payments, security alerts and changes to our terms.
- To provide customer support and handle complaints, disputes and quality reviews.
- To personalise the Service, for example remembering your preferences and suggesting suitable writers or services.
- To analyse and improve the Service, our website performance and the quality of work delivered.
- To send promotions, discounts and news where the law allows, which you can opt out of at any time.
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5Legal bases for processing
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on the following legal bases: contract, to provide the services you order and manage your account; legitimate interests, to run, secure and improve the Service and prevent fraud, balanced against your rights; consent, for marketing messages and non-essential cookies where required, which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation, where we must keep records or respond to authorities.
6Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We share it only as needed with:
- Writers, editors and support staff working on your order, who see the order details, files and messages, but not your payment details.
- Payment providers that process your payments and refunds.
- Service providers that help us run the Service under confidentiality obligations, such as web hosting, email and SMS delivery, live chat, analytics, security and customer-support tools.
- Professional advisers, authorities and courts where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, staff or the public.
- A successor business if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will make sure your information stays protected.
7Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect against fraud, remember your preferences (such as dark mode), understand how the Service is used and make live chat work. They fall into these groups: essential cookies, needed for login, security and core features; functional cookies, which remember your choices; and analytics cookies, which help us measure and improve performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Service, including staying signed in, may stop working. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies.
8Marketing messages
We may send you offers, discount codes and updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp where permitted. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, replying STOP to a text, or contacting us. Service messages about your account and orders, such as deadlines, payment receipts and security alerts, will still be sent because they are part of the service.
9How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After that we keep limited records for as long as necessary to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, and enforce our agreements. Order files and messages are retained for a reasonable period after delivery so we can handle revisions and complaints. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see section 11).
10How we protect your information
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls limited to staff who need them, request rate-limiting, and regular software updates and backups. No online service is completely secure, so please choose a strong, unique password, keep it private and sign out on shared devices. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
11Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, and under laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and Kenya’s Data Protection Act, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, or close your account;
- object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
You can update most account details yourself in your profile. For anything else, email us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
12International transfers
We, and our service providers, may process and store information in countries other than your own, including countries whose data protection laws differ from yours. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take appropriate steps, such as contractual safeguards, so it remains protected in line with this policy.
13Third-party links and services
The Service may link to or integrate third-party sites and tools, such as payment pages, Google sign-in and chat tools. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies before sharing your information with them.
14Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
15“Do Not Track” signals
Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. There is no common standard for responding to them, so the Service does not currently change its behaviour in response. You can still manage cookies through your browser settings as described in section 7.
16Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or the law. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or through the portal. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
